Understanding who we are at our core—and how the "primordial soup" in which we were raised and continue to live shapes us—is key to effective leadership.
At True South Impact, the belief that every individual holds the power to be an instrument of change is at the heart of everything we do. This idea was deepened through a transformative experience that our founder, Katie Rozner, had in South Africa while pursuing her Master of Science in organization development. Working with an international client in Soweto, Katie experienced firsthand the importance of deep introspection and sociocultural awareness in shaping how we lead and influence others. Understanding who we are at our core—and how the “primordial soup” in which we were raised and continue to live shapes us—is key to effective leadership.
In South Africa, Katie discovered her True South™—her most authentic, grounded, and impactful self. She realized that leadership isn’t just about guiding others but about being intentional in how you show up, understanding the influence you have, and using it to spark meaningful change that fosters trust and collaboration. This clarity inspired Katie to help others unlock their unique talents and align with their True South™, empowering them to shape their interactions with confidence, purpose, and authenticity.
After years of working on the front lines of politics and with diverse teams, Katie recognized that lasting change starts from within. Her transformative experiences—ranging from working in the halls of the U.S. Capitol to consulting in South Africa—led to the creation of True South Impact. Through this platform, Katie and her team empower purpose-driven leaders to cultivate their True South™ through self-discovery, cultural agility, and CliftonStrengths® development. We equip leaders not only to realize their full potential but also to create ripple effects of transformation in their teams, organizations, and communities.
